Chiropractic is a method of health care that focus’s on the body’s own ability to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The human body is entirely controlled by the brain and nervous system, (muscles, blood vessels, organs, immune system…everything!) The bones in the spine (vertebrae) protect the spinal cord and nerves; nerves exit the spinal column between each vertebra to communicate with organs, glands, muscles, etc. Chiropractors examine the bones in the spine to determine if there is a misalignment that may be causing interference in communication between the body and it's control center: the nervous system. This condition is called a subluxation. When there is interference in communication between the brain and the body, the body can’t function properly or heal itself. Your chiropractor will determine if and where you have a subluxation and make the necessary adjustment to remove it. When proper nerve flow is restored, the human body can better adapt and heal itself. This translates into better organ function, mental clarity, less need for medication, and less (or no) pain. It’s as simple as that!
